On the first floor two rooms have been set aside in order to exhibit
special collections. A small room off the landing, half way up the
stairs, is used as an exhibition area to display the equipment used
in various pastimes practised by ladies
of the house such as the art of letter writing and needlework.
The first exhibition room first on the west of the landing is used to display
items of jewellery and personal accessories
dating mainly from the 19th century. A fine collection of English
silver used to serve food and drink during the 18th and
19th centuries is exhibited in the second room on the west of the landing.
