Celebrating International Mother Tongue Day

– Language & Diversity: 20 years of Democracy and the Preservation of Linguistic Heritage. Language indaba SS14

Within the broader context of celebrating South Africa’s 20 years of democracy, the conference will celebrate multilingualism. The discussion will be preceded by a cultural Astronomy show conducted by Temba Matomela (Planetarium Officer, Iziko)

  • “The Preservation of our Linguistic Heritage Through Written and Spoken Word” – Andrea Dondolo (Cultural activist, Writer, Storyteller, Actress, Traditional Xhosa praise singer (imbongi) and Artist)
