Paul Mitchell is a leading frame historian, consultant and supplier of frames to museums and private collectors worldwide. A graduate of Cambridge University and the Courtauld Institute
of Art, he is a pioneer in the study of the history of frames and has two major books on the subject to his credit. This is a rare opportunity to hear a world authority on the underestimated but crucial role of the picture frame in relation, not only to paintings, but to architecture, interior decoration and the decorative arts.
