Concert pianist at the Old Town
House
On Saturday 28 October at 18:30 in the elegant Hals Room of
the Old Town House in Greenmarket Square, accomplished British
pianist Anthony Hewitt will play selections from Beethoven,
Chopin and Brahms.

Memory and Magic
The artworks on show at the
"Memory and Magic" exhibition at Iziko SA National Gallery arose
out of the !Xun and Khwe Cultural Project started by Catherina
Scheepers-Meyer in the northern Cape. Its purpose was to provide
therapy to displaced San communities, severely traumatised by
events following the Angolan and Namibian wars of liberation.

Blind children inspired by
Picasso
The recent "Picasso and
Africa" exhibition at Iziko SA
National Gallery may have been an eyeful to the 56 000
visitors who flocked to view it but, thanks to the dedication of
special needs facilitator, Sandra Eastwood, it was an even more
enriching experience to the blind and visually impaired learners
from the Pioneer School in Worcester.

Thank You Picasso
and Africa
"Picasso and
Africa", the groundbreaking exhibition, has come and gone,
leaving many aspiring young Picassos in its wake. 'Thank You
Picasso and Africa' , an exhibition in which learners' respond
to the exhibition, is proudly presented as a collaborative
project involving the Frank Joubert Art and Design Centre,
Ibhabhathane Project, Iziko South African National Gallery
Special Needs Project and the Public Programmes and Education
Division of Iziko Museums of Cape Town.
