Ceremony of Remembrance - 6th
May 2007
Cape Town, April 26 2007 - Iziko Museums of Cape Town, in
collaboration with the national Department of Arts and Culture
and St George's Cathedral, will host a Ceremony of Remembrance
on 6 May at St George's Cathedral (Wale Street, Cape Town) at
16h00, to commemorate the abolition of the slave trade in the
British Empire in 1807.

Free lunchtime films on themes
of human rights, slavery
A series of free lunchtime films will be held over the next
fortnight at Iziko SA Museum in Queen Victoria Street. Based on
the conflicting themes of human rights and slavery, all
screenings begin at 13:00. Advance booking is not necessary.

Freedom Day Public Lecture -
26th April 2007
Iziko Museums has been engaged in a partnership with the
Museum of London, the Museum in Docklands London, the Barbados
Museum and Historical Society Bridgetown, and the British
Council around the bicentenary of the abolition of the slave
trade in the British Empire in 1807.
