22/08/2007 Cross the Castle moat and see 'Waves'
A version of this exhibition, previously shown at the Johannesburg Art Gallery in 2004–5 and at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in 2006, is to be shown at the Iziko Good Hope Gallery at the Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town from September 6th to October 28th 2007.

22/08/2007 Through the camera lens of Ernest Cole - new exhib
The photographs of Ernest Cole will be on display at Iziko South African National Gallery from 4 September until year end. Cole was an extraordinarily courageous young photographer who spent five years documenting everyday experiences of black South Africans under Apartheid in the 1960s.

A fascinating and historically important exhibition depicting the versatile role of beads in southern Africa has opened in the foyer outside the TH Barry Lecture Theatre of the Iziko South African Museum, and will run until 31 July 2008.

07/08/2007 Life, death and rinderpest - SA's first vet
Dr Jotello Soga, who was born in the Cape Colony in 1865, was a rare individual in that not only was he the product of a Xhosa father, the renowned Reverend Tiyo Soga, and a Scottish mother, but he became the first born and bred South African to qualify as a veterinarian in Edinburgh.
