Become a model ship builder on Heritage Day
The fine art of ship model building will be demonstrated at the new Iziko Maritime Centre in the V & A Waterfront on Heritage Day (24 September). Among the techniques presented will be carving and planking ship boats, rope making and rigging a ship, making guns, rudders and anchors, and lots more.  more>>

Peace will be the theme of the next Friends of the South African Museum talk to be held at the Iziko South African Museum on Tuesday, 25 September at 19:00. Maano Ramutsindela, Associate Professor of Environmental and Geographical Science at UCT will discuss ‘The emergence, spread and challenges of peace parks in Africa.’

September - a month of celebrating our heritage at Iziko Museums
In celebration of Heritage Month, Iziko Museums of Cape Town hosts a calendar of stimulating events that promise to be as diverse as our country and people.
