Teachers' workshop on Saturday
offers a range of events
The public - with special focus on teachers - is invited to join
a workshop at Groot
Constantia on Saturday 10 March from 10:00-13:00. Hosted by
the Iziko Museums'
Education and Public Programmes Department, the event is
aimed specifically at history teachers and offers the following:
- a presentation which focuses
on the role of women slaves
- a storytelling performance
by Marji Geldenhuys and Errol Dyers
- mini book fair
- opportunity to visit Iziko's
Orientation Centre at
Groot Constantia where panel displays describe the lives of
early peoples of the Cape and inform about rural slavery,
botany and other topics.
The cost of the event is R30.
