Artist and visionary Cyprian Shilakoe

On Wednesday 20 June at 13:00, Friends of SA National Gallery host a walkabout of the exhibition "Cyprian Shilakoe Revisited", a travelling exhibition of much of the artist's works including images of the spirit world depicted in woodcuts, etchings, linocuts and semi-abstract wood sculptures.

Shilakoe is described as a master of aquatint, a creator of rich and lustrous prints, and possessor of a profound visionary quality.

Philippa Hobbs, curator of the MTN Art Collection who was intimately involved in the selection of works for the exhibition, conducts the walkabout which costs R30 for members; R40 for guests. The exhibition runs until 24 June.
