Something new from Cameroon
On 10 July at 17:30 at Iziko SA Museum, Zayd Minty will discuss an
innovative cultural and urban transformation process presently under
way in the Cameroonian town of Doulla. Described as an "act of
re-imagination", this pilot community development project, which
involves input from local inhabitants, has resulted in two
creatively enhanced pieces of basic infrastructure: a water pump and
foot bridge, as well as a number of art interventions. Entitled "An
examination of Doual'art's Culture and Urban Transformation
Processes", the discussion is being held as part of
Iziko's Winter
Public Programme. Entrance is free.
