"Singing" with Friends
On Tuesday, 17 July at 17:30, visiting
curator Patrick Murphy presents a special "preview" walkabout of the
exhibition "Singing the Real", an exhibition of contemporary Irish
art, which marks the beginning of a cultural exchange between
Ireland and South Africa.
Opening at Iziko South African
National Gallery on 19 July and running until 30 September, this
multi-media exhibition explores the combination of scientific method
and art practice that is prevalent in Irish art today. Video
projections, installations, photographic light boxes, photographs,
drawings and paintings are amongst the works on view.
Hosted by the Friends of South
African National Gallery, the event is R50 for Friends and R65
for guests, including a glass of whiskey.
