If collector’s items and objects of beauty are your cup of tea, then make a date with the Friends of the South African National Gallery for Saturday, 13 October at 17:30 when they host a preview walkabout of Stephan Welz and Sotheby’s Decorative and Fine Arts Auction at the Old Mutual Conference & Exhibition Centre, Kirstenbosch.

On view, and going under the hammer on 16th and 17th October, will be books, carpets, furniture, paintings (including South African artworks), clocks, silver, ceramics, rare Chinese porcelain and other collector’s ‘gems’. Experts from various fields will be on hand to offer information and advice.
