Bobbin lacemaking comes to town
The unusual and delicate art of bobbin lacemaking comes into its own
on Thursday 17 April at the 18th century house museum,
Iziko Koopmans-De Wet House
in Strand Street. The Cape Lacemakers’ Guild offers a series of
demonstrations of the different techniques of this ancient craft.
Visitors will also be able to view a selection of beautiful,
finished articles. Beginning at 10:00 and hosted by Iziko Museums,
normal entry fees will apply: R10 for adults, children under 16
years free, and R5 for learners, students and pensioners.
