14/04/2008 Everything you wanted to know about heavenly bodies

Well-known astronomer and lecturer, Prof Tony Fairall, returns to Iziko Planetarium during May to present his popular introduction to astronomy, the ‘Starfinder’ course. The course runs over four consecutive Wednesday nights, on 7, 14, 21 and 28 May, from 20:00-22:00. Each session comprises a double lecture. Participants will gain an excellent basic understanding of this fascinating science and will learn about the constellations, constellation co-ordinates, the celestial sphere and the heavenly bodies of our solar system.

The course costs R200 including tea, lecture notes and a certificate of attendance. Tickets are on sale at the Museum’s Main Entrance. Please note that the Museum will be closed on Workers’ Day on 1 May. Enquiries: 021 481 3900 or visit www.iziko.org.za.
