Skotnes - walkabout
On Sunday 8 June at 11:00, the
Friends of the South African National Gallery present a
walkabout of the current exhibition ‘Cecil
Skotnes: A private view’.
Skotnes has many strings to his bow
and is admired as much for his artwork as for his role in art
education and generosity towards young local artists. A prolific
artist, his works on view include drawings, cartoons, watercolours,
prints and works of art on paper, representing the more intimate
side of his extensive production.
Also on view are letters, collected
documents, personal memorabilia and items from his home and studio.
The walkabout is presented by Pippa
Skotnes and Joe Dolby and costs R40 for Friends, R60 for guests and
R20 for students.
