30/05/2008 Lloyd Pollak on 20th century Russian art

On 11 June at 17:30 the Iziko South African Museum, popular art critic and lecturer, Lloyd Pollak will discuss what transpired in the Russian art world during the 20th century. Once the seedbeds of artistic revolutions, Moscow and St Petersburg embraced a number of European avant-garde styles, before State policy dictated that Socialist-Realism become the order of the day. 'Russian Art of the 20th Century' is hosted by the Friends of the South African National Gallery and costs  R40 for Friends, and R50 for guests.
