Studio visit:
Ceramicist with a difference

On Saturday 16 August at 14:30,
Friends of the South African
National Gallery will host a visit to the studio of ceramacist-with-a-difference,
John Bauer of Harfield Village.
Using a wide variety of techniques and materials, from lace and
feathers to plants and skin - as well as an unfettered imagination -
John creates beautiful, innovative items. His porcelain works,
largely inspired by techniques used during China’s Song Dynasty, can
be found amongst the collections of such far-flung institutions as
the William Humphrey’s Art Gallery, Kimberley and the Cobalt Museum,
Norway.
The event costs R40.
Enquiries: Lizzie 021 467 4662
