The Old Town House was built in 1755 as Cape Town's first public
building. It was given a prominent spot on the city's central square
and served as Burgher Watch House, Burgher Senate and City Hall of
Cape Town. In 1914 it became the city's first art museum and it now
houses the world-renowned Michaelis Collection of early Netherlandish art.

In this glorious historical building, its walls covered with
precious masterpieces by Frans Hals, Ruisdal and others, ideal
venues for stylish corporate receptions are offered. The rooms are
also suited to chamber music concerts and other cultural events.
Outdoor receptions in the picturesque courtyard behind the building
can also be accommodated. These venues are often used for film
shoots and wedding photographs.
