DUTCH TREAT: DUTCH WORKS FROM THE 17TH–20TH CENTURIES IN IZIKO
COLLECTIONS
ONGOING
Examples of Dutch art from the 17th to the 20th centuries in the
Iziko Collections are on view at the Old Town House's Iziko Michaelis
Collection, including this fine watercolour by the painter Josef
Israels. The Iziko Collections of Dutch art include the esteemed
Michaelis Collection, as well as the Henry van den Bergh Bequest of
nineteenth-century Dutch art received via the National Art Collections
Fund (NACF) of Great Britain in 1948. Significant works on paper
acquired by the Iziko South African National Gallery over the years
are also on display.
The Old Town House is presently undergoing renovations to improve
disabled access, and certain areas will be inaccessible while this
long-awaited work is in progress.
