Since opening its doors on 6 April 1897, the Iziko South African Museum (ISAM) has grown from strength to strength. Being this old however, poses challenges in being able to adapt quickly and effectively to changes in the way modern museums present their collections and engage with their public. We have thus embarked on a renovation and upgrade that will see the museum become a world-class facility, enabling the organisation’s mandate to increase access to the collections.
