Occasions Fit For a King: Castle of Good Hope

  • Posted: Jun 24, 2014

Host your luncheon, or design an exclusive dinner party – or even a wedding – at the Lady Anne Banqueting Hall at the Castle of Good Hope. The Lady Anne’s long table, with its seating for 101 guests, amidst exquisite artwork, lends itself perfectly to a grand reception. This historical location is the perfect venue while the chilly Cape compels us indoors. So, why not wow your guests with a unique and stately setting this winter?

The Castle of Good Hope is a beautifully restored fortress built after 1665 by the Dutch East India Company (VOC), and is Cape Town's oldest building. Housed within its massive stone walls are the magnificent national treasures that make up the William Fehr Collection. The Collection is an artistic mirror of life and culture across southern Africa and beyond. Superb oils and watercolours, graphics, fine furniture, silver, glass and much more reflect some of the lasting contributions of those who helped make South African history between 1500 and 1900.
