2010: Making Connections 24/06/2010
During this winter holidays Iziko Museums of Cape Town’s Education and Public Programmes Department is offering a range of Let’s Celebrate holiday programmes in celebration of our rich heritage and our country’s momentous hosting of the FIFA World Cup. Special programmes in the fields of Arts and Culture, Natural History and Social History are taking place at schools in areas such as Nyanga, Parkwood, Paarl, Hawston, Stanford, and at certain Iziko Museums. Iziko Museums of Cape Town celebrates the significance of Youth Day this Wednesday, 16 June, by welcoming the public to visit our national museums for free (excluding the Castle of Good Hope and Iziko Planetarium). Iziko celebrates International Museum Day 2010 11/05/2010
On 18 May 2010 museums around the world will celebrate International Museum Day. Museums wield the potential to serve as platforms from which cultural exchange, awareness and enrichment can be facilitated in order to promote tolerance and understanding. Iziko Museums of Cape Town Council Announcement 08/04/2010
The Council of Iziko Museums is pleased to announce that Ms Rooksana Omar has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (Designate) for Iziko Museums. Ms Omar holds an MBA and BA (Hons) degree and is currently the Director of the Luthuli Museum, a National Cultural Institution in KwaZulu Natal. In this capacity she has provided leadership on both a strategic and operational level, successfully delivering a relevant and dynamic programme whilst ensuring strong governance, compliance and unqualified audits... Celebrate Summer at the hearth of our heritage 10/12/2009
Dive into our Heritage with Iziko Museums of Cape Town as it launches its Celebrate Summer campaign. The campaign will run from the 15th December 2009 until Human Rights day on the 21st March 2010. Access coupons will be available at malls, tourist information stands and newspaper cut-outs. These coupons will permit free access for two adults to any of the Iziko Museums of Cape Town (excluding the Castle of Good Hope and the Planetarium) Children aged sixteen and under enter for free all year round... Free access to Iziko Museums on World Aids and Emancipation Day 26/11/2009
On 1st December - World Aids and Emancipation Day, Iziko Museums of Cape Town will commemorate these two global occurrences by granting the public free access to all its sites. Free Entrance at Iziko Museums of Cape Town on Africa Day 21/05/2009
Iziko Museums of Cape Town plays host to a thought provoking programme of public events between Wednesday 17th June and Saturday 25 July, when the Cape Town Holocaust Centre hosts a programme of public events.  Titled “Champions of the Child”, the events take place both at the Iziko South African National Gallery and at the Cape Town Holocaust Centre.  The focus of these events is on the life and legacy of Janusz Korczak and the rights of youth and children.
