The toy collection contains mainly dolls, some soft toys, and games.
The Van der Merwe marionettes in the collection depict well-known
politicians of the 1930s and 1940s, such as J. C. Smuts, D. F. Malan
and J. B. M. Hertzog, as well as cartoon figures like Oom Kaspaas.
There is also an important collection of miniature military figures
sculpted by the Swede Holger Eriksson, who worked in South Africa
for the firm Swedish African Engineers during the mid-twentieth century.
