	Researcher: Jaco Boshoff Tel: 27 21 4641267 E-mail: jboshoff@iziko.org.za The Maritime Archaeology programme at Iziko focuses on shipwreck research, education of the public and cultural resource management. One of the latest projects is the search for the Dutch slave ship Meermin, wrecked in 1766 on the Cape South coast after a slave revolt on board. Other programmes include the creation of a shipwreck trail in conjunction with the South African Heritage Resources Agency. Diver education is in the form of the internationally recognized Nautical Archaeology Society course in Underwater Archaeology.
