Stone, Coldstream, near the Lottering River, Tsitsikamma Coastal National Park, Western Cape

This stone was found on the shoulders of a skeleton in 1911. It is unique for its unusual state of preservation and because it is the only known polychrome painted stone from archaeological deposits in South Africa. Three figures with white faces and elongated bodies stride across the stone's surface.
