Basket (ukhamba) made in 1977 by Greta Hlabisa, a member of the Vukani
Association. Vukani was started in 1972 in Eshowe as an initiative by
a local missionary for the economic and cultural upliftment of the
local population through the production and sale of Zulu craftwork.
Skilled women basket-makers produce mainly coiled and sewn baskets in
both traditional and new designs. Bought from the Vukani Association. (SAMAE11138)
