Wheel-engraved and polished in intaglio are Louis XlV scrollwork, with
the Amsterdam coat of arms and Dutch East India Company (VOC)
monogram. The decoration is partly picked out in gilding, most of
which has vanished. There is no doubt regarding the date of origin
of the decanter. If the decoration is authentic, it is the only known
example of a VOC decanter. De Pass Collection. (SACHMC32/19)
