Made by an Inuit carver. The Inuit inhabit the northern regions of
Canada and live in small, scattered communities and villages
throughout the Arctic from Alaska to eastern Greenland. A tradition of
carving ivory and wood goes back over 2 000 years and continues to the
present day. Most men could carve but some became specialists, carving
exquisite little figures that reflect the Arctic world around them.
