Norimono, lacquered and
painted wood, textile, Japanese, 18th century
Large sized onna-norimono (norimono for carrying ladies of high rank).
Exterior with lacquered black background, lacquered gold decorations,
and brass fittings. Interior panels painted, also a cushion, red and
white tassel hangs outside in front and gold thread tassel and a hook
hangs off the side.
