Rectangular, base and top have ornate scalloped openwork borders with
shell motifs; and are joined together by four columns, one at each
corner, in the form of candlestick stems. Three holes in top through
which fit inkwell, pounce pot and quill holder, each with foliate
finial. The hallmark TR is on the base, which could be the initials of Rogiers
who worked in the Cape in the years 1750-1768. Presented by the Cape Town Archives.
