Getting up close to Timbuktu with the experts 06/08/2008
The remarkably preserved manuscripts and artefacts which form the ‘Timbuktu Script and Scholarship’ exhibition at the Castle of Good Hope, offer visitors insight into the sophisticated cultural history of sub-Saharan Africa dating back to the 1100s. Running concurrently with this extraordinary exhibition – a graphic portrayal of the ancient history of the written word in Africa - are a series of informative walkabouts which enable visitors to maximise their ‘Timbuktu’ experience. more>>
