Luzuko Dalasile

Planetarium Presenter

Luzuko Dalasile is the Planetarium Operator/Presenter at Iziko Museums of South Africa. He presents educational shows and lectures for schools and the public, and says he enjoys interacting with people, sharing fascinating information about the universe with audiences young and old. Mr Dalasile says he loves to learn new things, which helps him deliver fruitful and informative lectures to everybody from all walks of life. ‘I love working for Iziko Museums and helping the people of this country have an unforgettable experience.’

Apart from being the Planetarium Operator, Mr Dalasile is an Environmental Educator, Field Ranger and Tourist Guide. He also has an interest in animation, and would love to study film and production, in order to create world-class planetarium shows, fully tailored to the South African school curriculum.

His favourite exhibition is Tata Madiba: Father of our democracy, Father of our nation: ‘It’s new, fresh and informative, and it’s about one of our past leaders who played a big role in our democracy.’

Mr Dalasile has visited Sutherland in the past, where he saw the South African Large Telescope, and says he would like to visit again with a powerful camera to take pictures of the magnificent, light-pollution-free night skies.
