This July school holiday, take part in a series of exciting and educational workshops with Iziko Museums of South Africa! The programme runs from Monday, 4 until Thursday, 7 July 2022, from 10h00 until 13h00 – and takes place at and explores the Castle of Good Hope, the Iziko Planetarium and Digital Dome, and the Iziko South African Museum (ISAM). Programme participants – learners aged between 7 and 15 years – will meet at the ISAM by 08h45 each day.

On Monday, 4 July Iziko will screen an exciting Planetarium show on the most progressive system in the world, the solar system. Following this, learners will make their own models of the solar system!

On Tuesday, 5 July learners will go on a tour of the Castle of Good Hope, learning about artworks and artefacts that encapsulate the rich history of the Cape and South Africa.

On Wednesday, 6 July explore the world of bees! Visit the Bee Display and go on a behind-the-scenes tour of Iziko’s Entomology Collection. Later, create paper bees in the Discovery Room.

On Thursday, 7 July get creative! Explore PLOT: Critical Zones – an exhibition highlighting the Earth’s limited natural resources and humankind’s exploitation of these minerals – and take-part in a workshop on ‘Earth Art’.

To book for a single or all four workshops, contact Wardah Harris at wharris@iziko.org.za or on 021 481 3823. Please bring your own lunch for the workshops.
