The upsurge of COVID-19 infections in the Western Cape necessitates the implementation of precautionary safety measures. The health and safety of our staff and visitors are of utmost importance. Subsequently, the Iziko Museums of South Africa’s Council has made the decision to institute staggered timed-access visiting hours for some Iziko Museums sites.
Museums will be open from 10h00 until 14h30 and will have the specified number of timed entry sessions, with sanitising periods in between. Wearing a mask correctly is compulsory. Visitors will be required to complete a screening questionnaire and have their temperatures checked. The following sites will be opened as follows:

The closure of the following museums will enable Iziko to rotate certain staff members who are serving the public at the Iziko sites that are open to the public:
- Rust en Vreugd
- Bertram House
- Koopmans-De Wet
- Old Townhouse
Bertram House and the Old Town House (Michaelis Collection) are closed to the public due to pending renovations.
