Iziko Museums of South Africa in collaboration with the Cape Flats Arts Festival invites you to Risen from the Dust, a speak easy and artist showcase from the Cape Flats.
An innovative platform designed to foster a powerful connection between communities and their history. The Speak Easy transforms the museum into a living dialogue – moving beyond passive observation to active engagement.
It creates a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their historic roots, share stories, perspectives and memories, and adds rich personal narratives to museum collections. The artist showcase, Risen from the Dust, centers community voices, showcasing art from the other side of Table Mountain, building identity and creating a shared understanding of the journey from past to present.
