We are seeking to appoint motivated employees in the following positions:

SITE MANAGER x3 Positions

Starting Salary: R409 919.02 per annum, plus benefits 

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for managing, administering and monitoring the delivery of various infrastructure projects from inception to close out as well as site management, cost reporting, maintenance programme

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control all aspects of building and building maintenance.
  • Monitor the state and effectiveness of all equipment on site.
  • Identify and manage site, specific logistics and operations.
  • Scheduling of teams on site.

Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Monitor project expenditures and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources (manpower, equipment, materials) effectively to meet project requirements.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee all aspects of maintenance and site scheduling to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Certification in Facilities Management or Construction Management, or Project Management or equivalent.
  • At least 3- 5 years’ experience in project management within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Ability to develop RFQ.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Organising, communication and planning skills
  • Knowledge of site maintenance, logistics and site development
  • Computer literate in Ms Office
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a diverse project team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively address challenges and make sound judgments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.

BASIC SALARY AND BENEFITS

The salaries quoted above do not include benefits. Iziko benefits comprise generous contributions towards a designated retirement fund (compulsory), a designated medical aid (voluntary) and a housing subsidy (voluntary). Other employment conditions such as working hours and leave entitlement are also generous.

DIRECTOR ADVANCEMENT- INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT

Starting Salary Range: R 1 039 726.00 per annum, plus benefits

Requirements:
Postgraduate qualification in Public Relations, Marketing, Business Development or equivalent Ÿ Proven relevant management experience preferably working within a highly structured compliance environment Ÿ Proven track record in fundraising, public relations, marketing &
communications
ŸAdvanced computer literacy in MS Office Ÿ Valid driver’s license Ÿ Knowledge of all relevant legislation applicable to a cultural institution including the PFMA.

Key Responsibilities include: Develop a fundraising strategy, policy, and plan for Iziko Museums which positions the organisation to attract investments and increase donor and self-generated income to enable public engagement initiatives and other strategic objectives Ÿ Develop a branding strategy for Iziko Museums Ÿ Develop and implement strategies for electronic and other communication media Ÿ Maintain and develop relationships with potential donors and benefactors Ÿ Plan and launch public relations campaigns to increase paying visitors to Iziko Museums Ÿ Develop appropriate responses to media issues Ÿ Formulate and implement best practice funding proposals Ÿ  Ensure that the departmental budget is aligned with the achievement of the objectives of the Business Plan Ÿ Ensure financial and labour compliance in the department Ÿ Coordinate the production of internal and external communications, publications, materials, branding, wayfinding, annual performance plans, annual report and strategic plans for the institution. 

 Competencies Required: Project management, financial management including procurement, people management Ÿ Leadership, including effectively managing the performance of a small, dedicated staff complement Ÿ Strategy and policy formulation Ÿ Driving projects and tasks for results Ÿ Adaptability, integrity and risk and stress tolerance Ÿ Strong command of the English language (written and verbal) Ÿ Excellent writing and editing skills Ÿ Fundraising best practice Ÿ Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders Ÿ Ability to work independently and pro-actively.

DIRECTOR HUMAN RESOURCES (eight months – fixed-term contract)

Starting Salary:   R 1 039 726.00 per annum, plus benefits

Requirements: Postgraduate HR-related qualification or labour law Ÿ At least eight years’ HR experience of which at least five years should be at HR management level Ÿ Working experience of MS Office Suite at intermediate level Ÿ Valid driver’s licence.

Key Responsibilities include: Giving strategic direction to HR management within Iziko,  providing support to line management as a strategic partner and ensuring the achievement of HR-related strategic objectives Ÿ Developing, implementing, monitoring and review of HR policies and procedures Identifying and mitigating all HR-related risks Ÿ Providing leadership to the HR team Ÿ  Keeping abreast of legislation, regulations, codes and best practice related to all HR functions and developing the HR team Ÿ Actively managing the payroll function Ÿ Developing budgets, including the salary, learning & development and departmental budgets Ÿ Developing annual, quarterly and ad hoc reports.

Competencies Required: Leadership skills Ÿ Excellent planning and organisational skills Ÿ Sound working knowledge of all aspects of human resource functions Ÿ Superior knowledge of HR-related legislation Ÿ Excellent comunication skills, both verbal and written Ÿ Sound knowledge of financial management Ÿ Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Ÿ Ability to identify potential risks, analayse trends and develop interventions to manage the risks Ÿ Ability to plan and implement projects Ÿ Good interpersonal skills.

EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR – INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT  

Starting Salary: R 358 475.00 per annum, plus benefits 

Requirements: Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification with either specialisation in HR Management/Industrial Psychology or Social Science Ÿ Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Business Partner or HR generalist in the professional stream within a large organisation Ÿ Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365 at intermediary level Ÿ Proof required of valid driver’s license. 

Key Responsibilities include: Coordinate and implement all systems, processes and procedures relevant to Recruitment & Selection, Induction & Orientation, Job Evaluation and Termination of Services Ÿ Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reports Ÿ Assist with the development and implementation of compliant HR-related policies and procedures Ÿ Assist with preparation for and during the annual Audits Ÿ Monitor and report on the recruitment budget Ÿ Contribute to risk management by alerting the Human Resources Manager to any areas of potential risk that require mitigation. 

Competencies Required: Ability to manage and mitigate employment related risks Ÿ Ability to record information accurately Ÿ Ability to work in a team as well as independently Ÿ Effective verbal and written communication skillsŸAbility to interact with internal and external stakeholders’ ŸKnowledge of the procurement process Ÿ Ability to keep abreast of HR-related legislation, regulations, codes and best practice to enable effective compliance.

Please be advised that the weekend(SAT and SUN) operating hours have been adjusted. 

The museums will open operate from 08h30 to 16h00 on weekends during winter.

 

Saturdays from 08h30 to 16h00

Iziko South African Museum and Planetarium, Iziko South African National Gallery, 

Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum and Iziko Slave Lodge. 

 

Sundays from 08h30 to 16h00
