Who Invites the Archive Home?
This roundtable will explore practices and visions of creative led engagement with museum archives. It opens with the award winning South African short film ‘Seasons of Longing’ which animates a queer photographic archive from 1930s South Africa as a process of return from its place in a British museum. Makers of the film will be in conversation with Iziko Museums and Zeitz MOCAA practitioners to discuss how South African museums can and do open up space for collaborative creative interpretation of their archives.
