Edit-Your-Pride is a social community-building event, where we come together to share knowledge from our various contexts.
Most importantly through this time spent together, we want to build an awareness of how ordinary individuals build Wikipedia’s knowledge repository, and to empower, particularly marginalised communities like the queer community with all its intersections, to drive our representation on the online encyclopaedia.
Each participant walks away with some introductory knowledge about Wikipedia editing, a Wikipedia account and a community of experienced and new editors. Through a network and growing community of queer Wikipedians, we begin to address the editorial gaps and representation of LGBTQIA+ people, organisations and topics.
Whether you spend the entire day delving into the world of Wikipedia editing with us or pop in for a coffee and a short introduction – we’d love for you to join us.
