Iziko Museums will be celebrating love in all its forms: tender friendships, lifelong partnerships, chosen families, and the quiet acts of care that often go unseen. Traditional Valentine’s Day can feel exclusive—too romantic, too couple-centric, too “perfect.”  This adventure opens the doors of Iziko Museums to a tale that transcends roses, clichés, and the conventional.

“LoveIsLove” is an invitation to visit and explore Iziko Museums on Valentines Day. Iziko Museums of South Africa will extend the operating hours of the

• Iziko South African Museum,
• Iziko South African National Gallery and
• Iziko Planetarium and Digital Dome, keeping the doors open until 21:00.

In addition to its regular Saturday line-up, the Iziko Planetarium will host three additional shows: 5pm, 6 pm and 8pm. Starlight: a rich nostalgic journey through the night sky. Join Margaret as she revisits her childhood curiosity about the stars. The show blends storytelling, constellations, star birth and death, and beautiful full dome visuals, including drifting through a nebula and witnessing a supernova. 

Journey to the Stars Epic, visually breathtaking, and perfect for awe‑filled moments narrated by Whoopi Goldberg, this show sweeps viewers through the life and death of stars, including our Sun.  Dream to Fly Poetic, inspirational, and ideal for couples who enjoy a dreamy narrative that traces humanity’s timeless yearning to soar, from myths of dragons and magic carpets to Da Vinci’s sketches, the Wright Brothers, and modern flight. 

A visit to the Iziko Planetarium promises to be simply out of this world.

Love should not be breaking the bank and Valentine’s Day at Iziko Museums of South Africa promises to be more than we bargained for. VALENTINE’S DAY LUCKY DRAW TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions (“T&Cs”) apply to the Iziko Museums Valentine’s Day Lucky Draw.

By entering, all participants agree to be bound by these rules.

• Entry is open to visitors to participating Iziko Museums on 14 February 2026.
• The competition closes on 14 February 2026. Entries will be accepted only on 14 February 2026 during museum opening hours, including the extended closing time of 9PM.

• Participants must be 18 years or older.
• Employees of Iziko Museums, prize suppliers, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
• Entry to the competition is restricted to one entry per person; multiple entries will be disqualified.
• By entering, participants acknowledge these T&Cs and agree to abide by them.
• The Promoter reserves the right to amend these T&Cs where necessary.
• To enter, participants must complete their name and contact details on the museum entry slip and drop it into the Lucky Draw box on 14 February 2026.
• No purchase is required other than the museum admission fee (which is not considered a prohibited form of “consideration” under the CPA).
