Romala Govender is a Curator of Cenozoic Palaeontology at Iziko Museums of South Africa.
Her research areas include vertebrate anatomy, including functional anatomy, palaeoecological and palaeoenvironmental reconstructions, taphonomy and taxonomy, as well as faunal turnover at sites in South Africa over time, focusing on the West Coast of South Africa. Her current research is on the 5-million-year-old marine mammal fauna at Langebaanweg on the West Coast. Her future research will focus on the small carnivores at Langebaanweg.
